Know the Unknown – A’Yonna’s Story

"I first got connected with Outreach because I stayed at 91 Place. The program I've been a part of while at outreach is the coaching program, which means I get an assigned coach to build a bond with, but they also help you, guide you, and encourage you through challenges you may face.

Outreach staff walked alongside me when I was homeless. They helped me get into my apartment., and when I had no food, they fed me and sent me days of food. When I was not able to shower, they allowed me to come and shower there. I had personal battles, and they were there every step of the way helping and guiding me, including getting me the resources I needed.

With Outreach, I feel whole, like we are family. I've made so many connections that are good and healthy, something I don't really have in my life otherwise. Every time I walk inside of outreach, everyone greets me with hugs and love and checks on me and how I'm doing. They make sure I have everything I need and if I don't, they connect me with the right resource. I am very thankful for the Outreach center and the staff." – A'Yonna, Young Adult
