Non-exempt, hourly position
$10 per hour
This role is primarily responsible for duties related to maintaining a commercial kitchen area while promoting a safe, hospitable space for group interaction to build a healthy community for youth.
Position Duties & Responsibilities

Understanding and following Commercial Kitchen Operations mandated by the State of Indiana
Meal preparation for youth, feeding between 40-50 youth and guests per program
Proper food handling and refilling prepared dishes as needed
Preparing weekly food restocking list
Working with and instructing committed volunteers
Overseeing proper kitchen safety and overall cleaning of the kitchen
Opening and closing kitchen, including pre-meal preparation, and post-service dish station
ServSafe Food Handler Certified
Current or previous experience working in a commercial kitchen setting
Participation in at least 4 hours of training per year
A willingness to perform duties as assigned
Ability to communicate with youth who receive services through Outreach
Solid understanding of kitchen operations and commercial kitchen equipment

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This position operates in a commercial kitchen environment. The individual is expected to maintain personal/professional competency and works to create an environment of courtesy, respect, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude in all interactions both internal and external to the organization.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time hourly position for 10 hours/week. Tuesday/Friday Mornings (8:30 am – 12:00 pm) and Thursday Nights (5:30 pm - 8:30 pm).
Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma required
At least 6-months of experience in the food industry. Individuals who have training and experience may qualify on a case by case basis.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must be able to pass a background check.

Salary & Benefits
$9-$12 dollars per hour. No benefits or paid holidays available.
