Knowing the Unknown – Kyle’s Story

Kyle Williams
Director of Coaching

"I see youth being seen, known, and loved through coaches walking alongside youth, through the good and bad. Youth experiencing love through accountability. Youth seeing themselves grow and make progress towards their goals and begin to believe in themselves and their future.

Recently, we were doing an intake with a young man who is 19, staying in a men's homeless shelter and very scared. He is diagnosed with schizophrenia and needs to be on medication. I love that with young people like that, we don't fly through a 20-minute intake. We can take an hour or longer if we need to establish trust and really hear out that young person and let them know we care about their specific obstacles and issues. That's what it means to see, know and love. We try to go deeper and get to the heart of what that youth wants and needs." – Kyle Williams, Coaching Manager
